The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Twitter account was ecstatic at the news of Tom Brady coming out of retirement to return for the 2022 season.

Just when you thought that Tom Brady’s NFL career was over, it was not. After spending less than two months in retirement, Brady announced in a tweet on Sunday night that he is returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for his 23rd NFL season.

If you thought Buccaneers fans were ecstatic upon hearing that the seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback was returning for another season, just take a look at the team’s official Twitter account, complete with a 3-letter reaction.

The team’s Twitter account was not the only Twitter account happy about the Brady moves. Tampa Bay players such as Mike Evans and Chris Godwin reacted to the news as well.

In what was supposedly his final game, the Buccaneers overcame a 27-3 deficit to the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round, but ultimately lost 30-27 to officially get eliminated. After taking some time, Brady announced that he was retiring from the NFL.

And here we are less than two months later. Tampa Bay never made a swift move to find Brady’s replacement, instead “leaving the light on,” as NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport tweeted out shortly after the veteran quarterback announced that he was unretiring.

Brady is coming off of a 2021 season where he completed 67.5-percent of his passes for 5,316 yards, 43 touchdowns and six interceptions. He finished in second-place behind Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in NFL MVP voting.

Now, with the free agency negotiating window set to open up on Monday at noon, those in the NFL know that Brady will be starting under center in Tampa Bay.
