The Miami Dolphins signed defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah to a monster new contract and people are losing their minds on social media.

You can go ahead and put the Emmanuel Ogbah rumors to bed. That’s because the star defensive end isn’t going anywhere. On Monday morning, Ogbah and the Miami Dolphins agreed to a monster new contract, with Adam Schefter reporting it’s for four years and $65 million.

Of that $65 million, $32 million is guaranteed. Over the weekend, there was word that Ogbah could end up leaving Miami for a new team, but that won’t be happening.

Miami Dolphins fans are fired up over the Emmanuel Ogbah news

Ogbah has solidified himself as a stud pass-rusher in the AFC. People all over Miami were hoping that he’d stay with the Dolphins for the long haul. The reactions on Twitter shows you just how relieved those fans are that Ogbah and Miami were able to finalize this contract, but there’s also plenty of trolls out there laughing at the Dolphins for overpaying.

After spending the first three years of his career with Cleveland, Ogbah suited up for the Chiefs for one campaign before joining Miami in 2020. He’s been outstanding for the Dolphins defense ever since, posting nine sacks in back-to-back years.

In 2021, Ogbah posted 41 total tackles, 12 pass deflections, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery to go with his nine sacks. Those kinds of numbers obviously impressed the Miami front office, which is why they wanted to make sure they didn’t let the defensive end suit up anywhere else. Now, it’ll be on Ogbah to live up to this deal with a big 2022. Dolphins fans are confident he’ll be able to get that job done.
