Pete Carroll continues to throw Russell Wilson under the bus with latest interview
In a new interview in Seattle, head coach Pete Carroll made it clear that he wanted Russell Wilson back next season.
The Seattle Seahawks have made it their mission to let people know it was Russell Wilson who wanted the divorce with the team and not the other way around. Take head coach Pete Carroll’s interview on Tuesday with Seattle Sports 710am as the latest example.
While on the show, Carroll said once again that it was Wilson who wanted to be traded out of Seattle. Although Carroll wanted Wilson back with the team next season and beyond, he wasn’t going to beg Wilson to make that happen.
Russell Wilson isn’t going to like the latest statement from Pete Carroll
Wilson said that he and the Seahawks had mutually agreed to move on from one another, but Carroll isn’t buying into that. Even though Seattle went 7-10 last season and missed out on the playoffs, Carroll knows just how good Wilson is with the ball in his hands.
Wilson’s mind, per Carroll, was made up and now the Pro Bowler is ready to make plays for the Denver Broncos. Meanwhile for Seattle, it’s looking like the team will end up starting Drew Lock come Week 1 unless another trade goes down in the near future. Lock said he’s ready to win the starting job.
After bringing Seattle its first Super Bowl, Wilson will always be remembered in the city and treated like a legend. However, it really does feel like the Seahawks are trying to paint the picture that the signal-caller was done with the team and didn’t want to keep on suiting up for the organization. We’ll see if Wilson responds to what Carroll had to say or not.
