F1 driver Mick Schumacher suffered a scary accident in the second round of qualifying at the Saudi Arabia grand prix. He was taken to the medical tent.

Schumacher’s freak accident left the F1 world holding its collective breath. The video, which is scary upon first look, brought with it more questions than answers.

The crash resulted in a red flag while the track was cleaned of debris. Schumacher was airlifted to the hospital for precautionary reasons.

In what was an already wild qualifying session, in which Lewis Hamilton failed to reach Q2, Schumacher briefly paused the race as a whole.

Schumacher will undergo further testing at the hospital, but the initial diagnosis seemed positive from race officials.

“Can confirm Mick appears physically fine – he has spoken to his mom etc. Likely being taken to hospital for a scan as a precaution but awaiting FIA update on that. So expect something via them by way of next update,” team officials said.

While Schumacher will be tested for head injuries at the hospital, he did exit the car and was eventually seen walking on his own. He even called his mother to let her know he was okay.

Haas f1 reserve driver

Pietro Fittipaldi is the Haas F1 reserve option with Schumacher likely out for the rest of the weekend.

Is Mick Schumacher okay?
