5 reasons the Golden State Warriors can win 2022 NBA Championship
3. Jordan Poole is ready to break out
Veterans like Curry, Thompson, and Draymond Green are used to shining bright in the playoffs. If the Warriors are going to make a run to a title this year, the old guard needs a little boost from the team’s younger players.
That’s music to the ears of a guy like Jordan Poole. He’s been a big weapon for Golden State as an offensive creator this season. His game isn’t quite as efficient as Curry as the team’s lead guard, but he’s more than ready to give the Warriors a quality scoring option whenever Curry hits the bench.
Poole’s ability to play with Curry as well separates him from other microwave scoring options that come off benches in the postseason. Expect the former Michigan star to log well over 25 minutes per night in most matchups. The offensive versatility he provides this team is crucial if they want to make a lengthy postseason run.
If Poole really wants to break out in this year’s postseason he’ll need to prove he can hold up on the defensive end of the floor too. Don’t be surprised if he powers the Warriors to a few big wins with some big scoring nights as long as Kerr can trust him to guard as well as shoot.
