Pick Analysis. 85. 47. Scouting Report. Wide Receiver. Boise State. Khalil Shakir. player

The Patriots need another wide receiver. They do have a lot of wide receivers with Bourne, Agholor, Jakobi Meyers, N’Keal Harry, and Ty Montgomery, but the upside just isn’t there. They need a wide receiver who can grow with Mac Jones. Right now, their best shot at that is Meyers it seems as Harry never lived up to his first-round draft position. This season, it would be smart for the Patriots to take a chance on someone in the middle rounds with so much talent at the position.

Khalil Shakir is a name that is incredibly intriguing. He is a big playmaker, and he showed that at Boise State. He’s a great route runner who knows how to use the field to get open. Once the ball is in his hands, special things could happen. Sure, he was facing Mountain West competition, but he excelled in open field. He’s not the fastest receiver in the class, but he catches everything near him.

The Patriots will love a player like Shakir on the team. He needs to grow in a lot of areas, but his ability to make plays can help the Patriots now. They have some interesting receivers, and going five or six deep at the position might be able to add to the offense’s strategy now that Josh McDaniels is in Las Vegas. Adding weapons can only help Mac Jones and the rest of this offense.
