New York Jets Mock Draft – Fourth Round

RB. Notre Dame. Kyren Williams. 111. player. 30. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

The Jets started Day 3 of the draft last year by finding a value at running back with Michael Carter, who quickly emerged as the early down back in his rookie season. The scheme that the Jets run is based on Kyle Shanahan’s system, which requires multiple backs instead of one bellcow, making Notre Dame’s Kyren Williams a good choice here.

Williams is an excellent pass catcher and excels at blitz pickup, making him an ideal third-down back to pair with Carter and Tevin Coleman. Adding a guy like Williams would give New York three quality backs to work with as the organization works to give Wilson all the tools he needs to succeed.

Pick Analysis. Cincinnati. Bryan Cook. player. 30. Scouting Report. S. 117

Adding a safety makes sense for the Jets, who don’t have a ton of depth behind starters Tahir Whitehead and LaMarcus Joyner. Cook does require a bit of development out of Cincinnati but he does project as a starting strong safety in the near future.

Saleh would love to get a guy like Cook, who isn’t afraid to hit and has plus speed, as a chess piece to utilize in his defense. The Jets could also use Cook as a player to cover the difficult tight ends in their division like Dawson Knox, Hunter Henry and Mike Gesicki.
