5 reasons the Brooklyn Nets can win 2022 NBA Championship

4. Bruce Brown can be Brooklyn’s X-factor

Loads of Nets fans are wondering if Simmons can return and be a difference-maker for the team once the postseason arrives. The reality is that it’s Brown who has a much better chance to push Brooklyn to success with his energetic play on the wing.

He’s never going to be a high-usage offensive player for a team with this kind of star power, but the fact that he’s shooting over 38% from behind the line this year makes it easy for Nash to keep him on the floor with the starters. That allows the young wing’s defensive chops to shine through for a team that really needs his toughness.

Brown lacks the size to guard the biggest wings in the NBA, but he’s got enough quickness to shut down small wings and other guards at a high level. That kind of versatility will make him a key cog of Brooklyn’s postseason machine.

Nets fans shouldn’t be surprised if opponents force Brown into more shots this postseason than he was accustomed to taking in the regular season. A few three-point barrages from Brown could make a massive difference to Brooklyn’s hopes of making a lengthy postseason run.
