1. Kevin Durant can be the best player in any series

The NBA is a star-driven league and that statement is never more true than when the playoffs arrive. Durant’s exceptional play for the Nets might be an obvious No. 1 reason on this list but it doesn’t make it any less true.

When he’s got things going on the offensive end of the floor is simply unguardable. His 6-foot-10 frame and freakishly long arms give him an ability to get his jump shot off over almost any defender. Combine that with his exceptional handle and it’s easy to understand why even the best defensive wings struggle to slow him down.

Durant’s offensive talent gives the Nets a chance to survive any sort of adversity just by letting him outscore the opposition. That’s not something Nash wants to rely on frequently, but it’s an invaluable trump card for Brooklyn.

His defensive versatility shouldn’t be overlooked in the playoffs either. Durant’s effort may wax and wane on that end of the floor during the regular season, but his length and athleticism allow him the chance to be a plus defender when he’s locked in.
