53. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Baylor. 202. Safety. JT Woods. player

The Cleveland Browns have three picks in the last two rounds, and they should look at some special teams help here. At least look for players who can help on ST now and possibly grow into something more later. JT Woods is incredibly fast and long. He’s close to 6-3 and he ran a 4.36 40 at the NFL Combine. His discipline was a major issue at Baylor, but that’s something that can be fixed. Woods would be a great pick at this point in the draft.

Another player who would make it great for the special teams but could eventually build himself into something, Nate Landman is listed as an inside linebacker. Landman was a four-year starter at the University of Colorado. A torn Achilles hurt his momentum in his senior year, and it really stopped what looked like an NFL career. He deserves a shot, especially if the Browns are using a seventh-round pick to make it happen. He has amazing football IQ. Landman just needs his body to react like his brain does.

Scouting Report. Cornerback. Arizona State. Jack Jones. 246. player. 53. Pick Analysis

Jack Jones is an interesting name at the cornerback position. He’s got ball skills, but he lacks some ball talent. He’s incredibly poised at the position, and that makes him someone the coaches will love. However, his 4.5 40-yard dash time shows he falls behind many at his position in terms of pure speed. Because of the lack of athleticism, Jones can take a penalty or two when he falls behind. It’s an issue the Browns would have to deal with. His upside isn’t so high, but he has intelligence the Browns can work with.

The Browns need to find the right combination of players in this year’s draft. They could fill some of these holes with free agents or future trades. There are very clear holes on this roster, and they have a chance to be patient with the likely suspension coming for their starting quarterback. While they don’t have a first-round pick but they can still build the foundation of a winner this year.
