Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry responded to LeBron James wanting to team up with him by shooting down the idea in the most brutal way.

LeBron James opened the door to speculation over playing with Steph Curry on an episode of The Shop on Wednesday.

Curry closed that door in a hurry.

The Warriors star was asked about James’ comments on 95.7 The Game and sounded like he wanted absolutely nothing to do with the idea.

Steph Curry  on LeBron James team-up: “I’m good right now.”

“Well, he got his wish. He’s picked me the last 2 All-Star Games. I don’t know if that suffices, but I’m good right now. I’m good right now,” Curry said.

“Whenever you get the interest or curiosity of what it would be like to play with arguably the MVP-caliber dude like he is, one of the greatest of all time, cool it’s amazing,” Curry added with a shrug. “We all can live in that fantasy world though.”

That might be as close to a “no way” as you’d ever get from a player discussing that kind of subject. Curry wasn’t exactly dismissive if all you read is the text of his quotes. But the video and audio tell it all. His “I’m good” was pretty final.

James is entering the final year of his contract with the Lakers. Despite winning a title with the team, his tenure in Los Angeles hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing. He missed the playoffs his first year with the team and has now missed another postseason even though LA went out and got Russell Westbrook to form a big three between James, Westbrook and Anthony Davis.

As for Curry, he’s dealing with a foot injury as the playoffs approach. His Warriors are the presumptive No. 3 seed in the West and he should be back on the court in time for Game 1.
