The Houston Astros unveiled their lineup for their Opening Day game against the Los Angeles Angels. Here is what the lineup looks like without Carlos Correa.

The Houston Astros, much like the rest of the league, are looking for a fresh start in 2022. Houston lost to the Atlanta Braves in the World Series in six games, and will have their first season without Carlos Correa on the roster. Correa signed with the Minnesota Twins.

Houston begins their 2022 season on the road, as they take on the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium. Here is a look at their starting lineup heading into the first game of the campaign.

Replacing Correa as the starting shortstop is Jeremy Pena, the team’s No. 1 prospect in the pipeline. Pena had an impressive spring with the team, as he raked in the batter’s box.

Back to the order, second baseman Jose Altuve will lead things off, followed by designated hitter Michael Brantley and third baseman Alex Bregman. Yordan Alvarez will bat cleanup and play in left field.

Starting for Houston is Framber Valdez, who is coming off of a 2021 season where he posted a 11-6 record, a 3.14 ERA, a 1.248 WHIP and 124 strikeouts over 134.2 innings.
