John Metchie III. 1. player. 829. Pick Analysis. Scouting Report. WR. Alabama Crimson Tide

John Metchie III could be the best wide receiver taken in the third round this year

Had John Metchie III not gotten hurt during the College Football Playoff, there is a decent chance the Alabama Crimson Tide repeat as national champions. Too bad close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. Regardless, Metchie is one heck of a wide receiver and whatever team ends up drafting him could be getting a potential superstar with their highly-coveted day-two selection.

Though he has been slightly overlooked playing at Wide Receiver U and all, Metchie could have been a first-round pick like his counterpart Jameson Williams probably will be and his former teammates DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle were last year. In short, a team like the Browns would be getting the next potential star Alabama wide receiver with one of their top-100 picks.

While Metchie could be in play at No. 44, he is more likely to come off the board in the third round. Getting him at No. 78 would be a steal and having him fall into your lap at No. 99 would be nothing short of a highway robbery. If he could thrive in the SEC catching balls from Tua Tagovailoa, Mac Jones and Bryce Young in consecutive years, just imagine the rapport he could build with Watson.

It is so hard to see the Browns passing on a player like Metchie three times in day two of the draft.
