2022 NFL Mock Draft: New No. 1 overall pick emerges for Jaguars
By Brad Weiss
Since taking over as head coach, Mike Vrabel has turned the Tennessee Titans into consistent winners, and that is likely to continue next season. The Titans have one of the better rosters in the AFC, and by continuing to add to the defense, they should still stay the favorite in the AFC South next year.
The pick here at No. 26 overall is the first linebacker to come off the board, as the Titans select Devin Lloyd from Utah. Vrabel was a standout linebacker for the New England Patriots, and in Lloyd, he gets a linebacker with superstar potential and three-down ability.
It has been a roller coaster of an offseason for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who were looking at life without Tom Brady. Since Brady’s ‘retirement,’ the franchise has not only seen him return but also head coach Bruce Arians step down, giving the team to Todd Bowles.
With pick No. 27 overall, the Buccaneers should look to add another weapon for Brady, bringing in wide receiver Skyy Moore. Getting a wideout of this caliber at the bottom of the first round would be a win for the franchise, which is looking to get back to the top of the NFC after losing in the playoffs last year.
The No. 28 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft belongs to the Green Bay Packers, who will be making their second selection of night No. 1. The Packers added a quality wideout early on, bringing in Jahan Dotson to replace Davante Adams, and here, they replace another star they lost this offseason.
With Za’Darius Smith gone, the Packers need an edge rusher, and they get a good one here in George Karlaftis. This is a guy who plays with a ton of passion and is blazing fast coming off the edge, filling an immediate void on this Green Bay defense.
