The Kansas City Chiefs hold back-to-back picks in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, a good indication that they are going nowhere. This is a team that has been the best in the AFC for years now and is looking to avenge their loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC title game last year.

With pick No. 29 overall, the Chiefs look to add talent to the defensive backfield, adding Florida cornerback Kaiir Elam. The Chiefs play in the toughest division in football in terms of quarterback play, so keeping the secondary above average will be key for them in 2022 and beyond.

With their second first-round pick in a row, the Chiefs will look to bring more firepower to an already explosive offense. The loss of Tyreek Hill in the trade to the Miami Dolphins leaves them with a hole in the wideout room, but they did bring in some veteran talent this offseason to fill it.

Still, they should look to continue to add to the position group here, and with pick No. 30 overall, Treylon Burks is the selection. This is a kid who is going to quickly get the respect and trust of Patrick Mahomes, as the Chiefs look to continue to sit atop the conference.
