Kyler Murray can be the heir apparent to Drew Brees on the New Orleans Saints
While the Cardinals would prefer to trade Murray over to the AFC, the NFC South is at a dearth of quarterbacking talent. The best one in the division is 45-year-old Tom Brady. Though the New Orleans Saints can at least tread water with Jameis Winston under center, Murray is more of the prototype that made Drew Brees so transcendent during his hall-of-fame career in New Orleans.
The Saints were one of four teams in on Deshaun Watson. Though they came up short, the Saints may just look at acquiring a long-term solution at quarterback in the next NFL Draft or two. Plus, there are some concerns at head coach with defensive-minded Dennis Allen taking over for offensive genius Sean Payton. If Payton was still coaching, the Saints might be the favorite here.
New Orleans will need a new quarterback soon, but the timing is not ideal to trade for Murray.
