NBA Playoffs: How to watch Suns vs. Pelicans, Game 1
By Scott Rogust
The New Orleans Pelicans won the eighth-seed in the play-in tournament and earned a first-round matchup against the Phoenix Suns. Here’s how you can watch Game 1.
There will be 16 teams competing to win 16 games with the goal of hoisting the Larry O’Brien Trophy. For the Phoenix Suns, who fell just short of the goal last year, they hope to make it a reality. But, they will have to face off against the New Orleans Pelicans in the opening round first.
The Suns were the top team in the league this year, as they ended their season with a 64-18 record. They win total is six more than the second-place Memphis Grizzlies (56-26) an the Eastern Conference’s first-place team, the Miami Heat (53-29). With Devin Booker, Chris Paul and Deandre Ayton on the roster, they are the favorites to make it out of the West for the second-year in a row.
Yet, they will have to contend with a Pelicans team that had to fight for their playoff berth. Holding the ninth-best record in the conference, New Orleans defeated the San Antonio Spurs in the No. 9 vs. No. 10 game to earn the chance to play for the eighth-seed. On Friday, Apr. 15, the Pelicans defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 105-101 to clinch a playoff berth.
Can the Suns advance? Or will the Willie Green-coached Pelicans be able to pull off the upset of all upsets?
Here is how you can watch Game 1 of the New Orleans vs. Phoenix.
