Steven Souza Jr. is a former outfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Earlier this month, he shared his stance on the Astros through a series of Tweets. He revealed that sign-stealing is more common in MLB than one may think.

“I’m not going to get into all that but you should know that if you think Houston was the only team with a sign-stealing system you’re dead wrong,” Souza wrote.

“I’m not denying they did that. And I can understand your disappointment in that. But they were used as a scapegoat for the rest of the league! And they didn’t drag anyone else into it!”

“I hear you but if you only knew how many teams were doing it you wouldn’t be as mad at Jose Altuve,” he said.

Souza Jr. referred to the players on the Astros as “some really good human beings” and showed perspective of how much of a problem sign-stealing truly is among the entire league. Sign-stealing isn’t condoned, but the Astros aren’t as bad as they seem for being the first ones caught doing it.
