Chris Bassitt is a pitcher for the New York Mets. He spoke out about the Astros scandal in 2021 at an All-Star Game. Bassitt expressed that he feels as though the media used it to gain attention and the Astros aren’t the only ones involved.

"“I think it’s a bigger media story than player story, honestly. It wasn’t just the Astros. So it is what it is. Obviously, I have teammates who played with them. I know how good of people those guys are. They were stuck in a bad situation. So yeah, I think it’s a massive media thing, but from a player standpoint, I think a lot of people are kinda over it.” – Chris Bassitt, via Houston Chronicle"

Bassitt has been in MLB since 2014 and has never been a controversial player. He seems to be tired of the situation being brought up consistently because of the idea that everyone in the league knew what was going on, and other teams were partaking in the same behavior.
