Fighters react to Mike Tyson airplane brawl with rude passenger
Fellow fighters stand firm that Mike Tyson had every right to whoop the man who appeared to refuse to stop disturbing him.
The combat sports community was sent into a tailspin when a video of Mike Tyson repeatedly punching a man in the face on an airplane leaked via TMZ. The whole assault appears to have been in retaliation for the man’s refusal to stop bothering Tyson on the plane.
Normal folks are split on how they feel, some think Tyson was right to defend himself and shouldn’t have to put up with verbal harassment. Others think words cannot be countered with physical harm.
But it seems pretty clear among the MMA community that the fighters are firmly standing with Tyson.

According to a witness, Tyson had taken a photo with the passenger, but the man didn’t leave and bothered Tyson afterward. When Tyson asked the passenger to stop, the passenger did not comply, leading to Tyson throwing several punches at the man.
Tyson left the flight following the incident, which left the passenger’s face busted up. The passenger received medical attention and then spoke with the police about the incident.
Representatives for Tyson told TMZ, “Unfortunately, Mr. Tyson had an incident on a flight with an aggressive passenger who began harassing him and threw a water bottle at him while he was in his seat.”
Interestingly, the Federal Aviation Agency told Forbes, “The FAA looks into all airline reports of passenger disturbances. We do not have a report at this time of an unruly passenger incident on a JetBlue flight yesterday.”
