Kenley Jansen

There had been some rumblings Jensen was a target of the Cardinals. For whatever reason, the trigger was not pulled on a deal. Jansen instead signed a one-year deal worth $16 million with the Atlanta Braves.

Jansen has pitched in five games so far getting three saves in five innings pitched. He has one walk and three earned runs while accumulating six strikeouts. He has a 35.1% CSW rate.

At 34-years-old Jansen is still a really good closing pitcher. While the Cardinals have a good closer in Giovanny Gallegos, having Jansen as a secondary option out of the pen for match-up needs would have been great for the Cardinals.

After spending 10 seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers, it seems different seeing him in a Braves jersey. It will be interesting to see how this season goes for Jansen. Could he be moved in a trade or move on next season? He could also find a new home with the Braves. It will be interesting to see what he does. Depending on how things go, it will be interesting to see if the Cardinals kick the tires on him.
