What colleges have had the most No. 1 picks in the NFL Draft?

With the 2022 NFL Draft finally here, let’s take a look back at some history and see which college programs have the most No. 1 picks in history.
Getting selected first overall in the NFL Draft is a pretty prestigious accomplishment. Only one person can be picked first overall in any given year and there are a ton of talented players in each and every NFL Draft.
Interestingly enough, there are a number of programs who have been able to produce multiple No. 1 overall picks for the NFL Draft throughout their history. It’s rare and difficult to do given the way there are so many players for teams to choose from and then there are so many schools out there, but there have been some teams that have found themselves with multiple players who go on to get picked first overall.
Without further ado, here are the colleges with the most No. 1 draft picks in NFL Draft history:

- T-1: Oklahoma Sooners – 5
- T-1: Southern California Trojans – 5
- T-4: Auburn Tigers – 4
- T-4: Georgia Bulldogs – 4
- T-4: Stanford Cardinal – 4
- T-7: LSU Tigers – 3
- T-7: Ohio State Buckeyes – 3
- T-7: Texas Longhorns – 3
- T-10: California Golden Bears – 2
- T-10: Miami Hurricanes – 2
- T-10: Michigan Wolverines – 2
- T-10: Nebraska Cornhuskers – 2
- T-10: Penn State Nittany Lions – 2
- T-10: South Carolina Gamecocks – 2
- T-10: Tennessee Volunteers – 2
- T-10: Virginia Tech Hokies – 2
Some of these programs are obviously more prestigious than some others, but all have been able to see some very notable success at various times throughout the years.
