As the 2022 NFL Draft is upon us, it’s worth wondering if the Philadelphia Eagles will go out and add another Alabama wide receiver to their roster.

The Philadelphia Eagles have a former member of the Alabama Crimson Tide playing quarterback in Jalen Hurts. As it turns out, the Eagles went out and drafted star Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith a season ago to pair with Hurts, improving their offense. Will they make that same sort of decision once more in the 2022 NFL Draft?

Jameson Williams is generally regarded as one of the best receivers available in this draft class. He’s become the latest former Alabama receiver to get a ton of attention for his potential and ability to impact a game.

Just one year after trading up and drafting DeVonta Smith, would general manager Howie Roseman be willing to do the same for Williams?

Williams was remarkable during his time in Tuscaloosa, catching 79 passes for 1,572 yards and 15 touchdowns during the 2021 season. He’s explosive and fast and exciting to watch.

How much the Eagles want him will be revealed on April 28 during the first round of the NFL Draft, where Williams is projected to go to Philadelphia at No. 15.

2022 NFL Draft: Will Philadelphia Eagles trade up to draft another Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver?

If this move actually does happen, it’ll officially be time to start wondering how many former Crimson Tide players the Eagles are willing to trade up for and draft.

Obviously, Alabama garners an absurd amount of talent. The Crimson Tide regularly win national titles and are in the midst of an incredible dynastic run with head coach Nick Saban running things. There’s a ton of talent leaving Tuscaloosa for the NFL every single year. Nobody consistently recruits better than Alabama. Nobody is assembling more talent at the college level than Alabama. It makes sense that teams would want to draft former Alabama players, especially when Philadelphia has the opportunity to pair Williams with Hurts and Smith.

Are the Eagles willing to lean in to things and exclusively draft former Crimson Tide players in the first round for two consecutive years? What’s the worst that could happen?
