Braves trade rumors: Travis Demeritte

After several seasons in the minor leagues with the Texas Rangers and Detroit Tigers, Travis Demeritte is getting his chance in the big leagues with the Braves.

In his five games played, he’s spent time in right and left field. With the return of Ronald Acuña Jr., Demeritte may get very little time in the right field as Acuña has been vocally passionate about playing despite coming back from an ACL tear. Demeritte is also behind primary backup Guillermo Heredia on the depth chart for right and left field.

He’s hit two home runs and is hitting .412/.444/.824 with a +263 wRC. Sure it’s a small sample size we are looking at for Demeritte, but he is playing well when given the shot. He could be a good asset for a team looking for young depth in the outfield.

On Friday, Demeritte hit a lead-off home run in the third inning off Rangers pitcher Spencer Howard. The blast traveled 363-feet with an exit velocity of 107.6 mph.
