The NHL Playoffs continue on Tuesday, May 3, as Game 1 of the first-round series between the Colorado Avalanche and Nashville Predators takes place.

The NHL Playoffs officially began on Monday, May 2, but the action continues on Tuesday night. In fact, the top seed in the Western Conference, the Colorado Avalanche, look to win the Stanley Cup. But first, they will have to get past the Nashville Predators.

Colorado has not won the Stanley Cup since 2001 after they defeated the New Jersey Devils. In fact, this organization has yet to make it to the Conference Finals since 2002. Even with how well the team has performed in recent years, they have yet to make it past the second round. Yet, Colorado does have an advantage.

Nashville will be without starting goaltender Juuse Saros for the first two games of the series, as he is still recovering from a lower body injury suffered on Apr. 27. David Rittich will start in his place. Even in Saros’ absence, Nashville has the opportunity to pull off, quite possibly, the biggest upset of the playoffs.

NHL fans will get a good look at how the series will go with Game 1.
