Zack Thompson

Thompson was the Cardinals’ first-round draft choice in the 2019 MLB Amateur Draft. The 24-year-old lefty pitcher is ranked ninth in the Cardinals system.

In AAA Memphis, Thompson is 1-0 after five games started. In 22.1 innings pitched, he has 27 strikeouts and an ERA of 4.03. Thompson does seem to be struggling a bit with 10 earned runs, three homers, three walks, a balk, two wild pitches and he hit two batters by pitch.

Thompson will need to get a little more time under his belt in Memphis but he could be another pitcher Cardinals fans will see later this summer.
