3 bold predictions for Minnesota Vikings offseason after NFL Draft
By John Buhler
2. Look for the Minnesota Vikings to potentially sign J.C. Tretter in free agency
The Vikings are addicted to declining fifth-year options. It is kind of an underrated problem for the organization, but do realize this is a new regime taking over the helm in the Twin Cities. So with that in mind, look for the Vikings to potentially be in the mix to sign J.C. Tretter in his extend free agency to at least push Garrett Bradbury in what will very likely be his final season with the team.
Tretter knows Adofo-Mensah from their time together within the Cleveland Browns organization. Though he is no longer a young buck, the Vikings could potentially use some of their $10,852,365 in available cap space to shore up their always underwhelming offensive line. Even if Cousins may want to sling the pigskin a ton in what will be a critical year for him, he needs to rely on his backs.
This move may not happen until right before training camp happens, but the Vikings may need to use some of their available finances to make sure the offensive line does not resemble a wet paper bag again. They have an offensive-minded head coach now, so one would better believe this would be a priority for the organization going forward. Tretter would certainly be a quality addition.
It may not be him per se, but the Vikings will definitely address the offensive line in week to come.
