1. Minnesota Vikings will regret passing on Jameson Williams for years to come

While Lewis Cine may become a fantastic player in the back-end of the Vikings defense, they are going to regret passing on Alabama star wide receiver Jameson Williams at No. 12 in their head-scratching trade with the Detroit Lions. Did Dan Campbell threaten to take Adofo-Mensah’s lunch money and stuff him in a locker if he would not cooperate to his demands? It really felt like that.

Even if the Vikings are good on the wide receiver front with Justin Jefferson already being a top-five player at his position in the league and Adam Thielen being still at the peak of his powers, a lot can change in a few years’ time. The Vikings have a rough history of not having their best wideouts play out the rest of their primes rocking purple uniforms. Thielen is not getting any younger either.

Not to say that the Lions are going to be reinventing the wheel under the guidance of Motor City Dan Campbell, but the 2022 squad may not be a festering grease fire. They will be more than competitive and could have an outside shot at a rare Wild Card berth if chaos happens in the NFC. If Detroit is going to take that huge leap forward, Williams could become the Lions’ Ja’Marr Chase.

Cine may have been a perfect Mike Zimmer draft selection, but he is no longer calling the shots.
