EDGE Melvin Ingram

The Packers don’t necessarily need a starter on the edge but they could use some veteran depth at the position to help out the defense.

Enter Melvin Ingram.

Ingram isn’t an every-down player at this stage in his career, but as a rotation piece, he can be a huge boost to a pass rush. He did that for the Chiefs last season and he should have at least another season in him.

Adding Ingram wouldn’t get in the way of Rashan Gary or Preston Smith nor would be get in the way of the development of new draft pick Kingsley Enagbare.

Ingram makes sense in just about every way except, perhaps, cost. Whether or not Green Bay could afford to add him is the big question. If not, there are others out there like Justin Houston to look at.
