5 teams that can make an intriguing offer for Donovan Mitchell

2. Miami Heat
The Miami Heat are not worried about the offseason right now. All they care about is beating the Philadelphia 76ers. They want to send Joel Embiid home early again, and that is their primary focus. However, executives with the Jazz are paying attention to assets, and the Heat have them in abundance.
Making a move for Mitchell makes some sense for a Miami Heat team that’s looking to stay at the top of the Eastern Conference. Despite missing those tippy-top stars that other Eastern Conference teams have (Giannis in Milwaukee, Embiid in Philadelphia, and Tatum in Boston), but they keep winning either way.
The Heat have a much easier time matching contracts than some of the other teams on the list (although the Knicks wouldn’t have a problem, either). The one player the Jazz will circle is reigning Sixth-Man of the Year Tyler Herro. He’s someone who broke out during the Bubble Playoffs in 2020, and he’s grown as a player ever since. He’s averaging close to 15 points per game in the playoffs, and he’s averaging just under five rebounds a game and just under three assists.
Herro is also just 22 years old, so he can survive a rebuild, develop himself as a star player, and when the Jazz are ready to compete again, Herro will still be in his prime. It makes a lot of sense from a player’s perspective. Then, the Heat can add someone like Duncan Robinson to help make the salaries match.
