Game of the Week: Los Angeles Chargers at Cleveland Browns
Maybe under the radar compared to some of the other big-time games on the slate, but the Browns and Chargers are two of the more intriguing AFC teams.
Los Angeles has loaded up this offseason, adding a slew of talent defensively including corners J.C. Jackson and Bryce Callahan, linebacker Kyle Van Noy, defensive tackle Sebastian Austin-Day and edge rusher Khalil Mack. The Chargers looked tough last year but fell apart down the stretch, losing games to the Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders over the final four weeks. With this infusion of talent, Los Angeles should be far more dangerous.
For the Browns, they’re still waiting on Deshaun Watson. While the weapons are essentially receiver Amari Cooper, and running backs Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, Cleveland will need a ball-control attack while Jacoby Brissett is under center. Winning a game like this against another quality AFC team would be a big step towards getting back into the postseason and making some noise.
