Game of the Week: Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs
If you polled most fans, this is the game of the year. Buffalo and Kansas City gave us an all-time, instant classic in the AFC Divisionals last season, forever to be known as 13 Seconds.
Coming into the year, Buffalo is the lone favorite to win Super Bowl LVII, having loaded up on defense with Von Miller coming off the edge. The Bills, though, need to prove their can get past Kansas City, who has ended their season each of the last two years at Arrowhead. However, Buffalo did break through against the Chiefs during the regular season in 2021, pummeling them in Week 5 on Sunday Night Football.
In an odd way, this is the rare game with both teams having plenty to prove. After years of being the obvious favorite in the AFC, Kansas City is now being grouped into the mix, with some believing it won’t make the postseason. The Chiefs have undergone a significant facelift this offseason, trading receiver Tyreek Hill and allowing safety Tyrann Mathieu to leave in free agency. If they beat Buffalo, it would appear Kansas City isn’t only a contender, but perhaps the favorite once more.
Also, the winner might very well host the rematch in January.
