3. Brewers could trade Keston Hiura to the Nationals for Nelson Cruz.

Sometimes a change of scenery is all that’s needed. Maybe that’s what Keston Hiura needs. The former first-round pick showed great promise during his rookie season with the Milwaukee Brewers, but has yet to return to that level over the past few seasons.

Hiura was taken with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2017 MLB Draft and made his major league debut in 2018. Hiura posted a OPS of .938 during his rookie season and mashed 19 home runs as well.

Since that time, Keston Hiura has been quite the disappointment for Milwaukee. Hiura has appeared in just 135 games over the past three season and owns a .645 OPS. Hiura was once a Top 100 prospect baseball, but he’s yet to recapture that level of production since his rookie season.

Swapping Nelson Cruz for Keston Hiura could be solid deal for both Milwaukee and Washington. Hiura is still under team control through the 2025 season, and if he returns to form, the Nats will have solid addition to the middle of their batting order.
