1. Week 8: at Philadelphia Eagles (Sunday, Oct. 30)

While the Steelers should be able to get a win at home over the Jets in Week 4, the rest of their October games are absolutely brutal. From Week 5 to Week 8, the Steelers will face the Buffalo Bills on the road, host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, travel to South Beach to take on the Miami Dolphins and then venture over to the other side of the state of meet the Philadelphia Eagles.

Buffalo and Tampa Bay are expected to win their respective divisions, while Miami and Philadelphia will be among the teams vying for a playoff berth in their respective conferences. Though the Steelers can say the same things about themselves, what a tough stretch of games in the heart of their schedule. They are not going 0-for-October, but this could be a month from hell.

Even if the Steelers have their annual bye week after the Eagles game, it could be season over if they are 2-6 heading into Halloween night. With how daunting the AFC is expected to be this year, Pittsburgh cannot afford to have a rocky start. Even if this game is on the road, one would think the Steelers need to steal this one in Philadelphia if they want to be the least bit playoff viable.

We will know so much about the Steelers heading into their annual bye after the Eagles game.
