1. Suns should try to get a first-round pick

This likely comes back to the Deandre Ayton move, but there are other options on this roster that could get the Suns back into the NBA Draft. It could also be a Chris Paul trade if it comes to that. The Suns could even trade their 2023 first-round pick if they want to get talent now. It would be a risky move, but a necessary one. The Suns could really use a very young player to grow around this roster.

The Suns have options here, and this is a good NBA Draft to be a part of. There is a lot of contention for the number-one pick, which shows there is a large collection of talent up there. There is also a lot of talent up and down the first round.

If the Suns can get a pick where they can get Serbian Nikola Jovic, it seems like a perfect fit for where this team wants to be. He can come off the bench and be a scoring threat immediately. He could grow into a star because his ceiling is insane, but he’s going in the middle of the first round. The Suns might be able to get him without even getting a lottery pick. Wendelle Moore Jr. is being mocked in the 20s, but he could make an impact for an NBA team right away. If the Suns can get a pick to get him, it could be very much worthwhile.

There are players that can help a contender right away in this year’s NBA Draft. It seems like a rarity in today’s NBA, but these rookies don’t need as much growth as the players of years past. Are they all NBA-ready? Of course not, but the Suns should be salivating at the chance to draft one. They don’t have a first-round pick because of the Chris Paul trade with the Thunder, but they could make up for that quite easily.
