Giants trade rumors: Tyler Mahle

Now we stay in Cincinnati with Tyler Mahle.

He was seen as untouchable by the Reds, but as Peter Gammons tweeted, they would now consider trade offers from other teams. With the Reds sitting in last place in the entire National League as of May 20, they need to consider selling for the rebuild.

In 2021, Mahle led the league with 33 starts, posting a 13-6 win-loss record, a 3.75 ERA, a 1.233 WHIP and 210 strikeouts over 180.0 innings of work.

This year, Mahle owns a 5.23 ERA, a1.349 WHIP, and a 2-4 record through nine starts.

The Giants’ best chance of getting a starting pitcher to add to their rotation is to call the teams that virtually have no shot at making the postseason. The Reds fit the bill, and Mahle would be a solid option for San Francisco.
