After a report listed the finalists for the Los Angeles Lakers head coaching job, Kevin Garnett took to Instagram to mock it.

Once the Los Angeles Lakers fired Frank Vogel, everyone was wondering who they would bring in to replace him in hopes of ultimately returning to top form in the Western Conference. Names like Nick Nurse were ruled out, but who did the Lakers come up with in their search? The reported finalists are former Portland Trail Blazers head coach Terry Stotts, Milwaukee Bucks assistant coach Darvin Ham and ex-Brooklyn Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson.

Former Boston Celtics player Kevin Garnett saw the list of finalists for the Lakers job, and he took to his Instagram account to mock it.

As mentioned, the Lakers were looking for big names once their season ended.

There were rumors linked to Nurse, but both he and Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri emphatically shut them down.

Then, there were the links to Doc Rivers, especially after the Philadelphia 76ers were eliminated in the playoffs. Even after 76ers president, Daryl Morey said that Rivers was returning for next season, a new report says that the Lakers haven’t “abandoned hope” that he could become available this summer.

The Lakers reportedly even tried the college ranks, reaching out to Michigan Wolverines head coach Juwan Howard for the job, which he turned down.

Thus far, the Lakers have Ham, Atkinson and Stotts as their finalists. It is an important decision, as the Lakers are looking to bounce back from an 11th place finish in the Western Conference and star LeBron James is entering the final year of his current contract.

Things can change, but if the Lakers go with either candidate, Garnett is not buying in.
