Broncos: 3 games Russell Wilson will have to win with his arm
By John Buhler
2. Week 14: vs. Kansas City Chiefs (Sunday, Dec. 11)
Let’s be real. If the Broncos do not look like a playoff team by the end of November, it is not happening this year. Their final six games are absolutely brutal. Not only do they have to play three playoff teams from a year ago, as well as two clubs that narrowly missed out, but they must play the Kansas City Chiefs twice in a month, including on Sunday Night Football at home in Week 14.
Denver has had a miserable time with the Chiefs in recent years. To say they are going to beat them at Arrowhead a few weeks later on New Year’s Day is a bit too much at this point. Though there are worse things than getting swept by the Chiefs in divisional play, if a team wants to remain playoff viable in this deep AFC West, it has to win the games it can when they are at home.
This will be a primetime affair with whole pack of Badgers. Simply put, it will take one of Wilson’s best games in years to hold serve at home in front of Broncos Country vs. rival Kansas City. If the Broncos do not win this game, they are not winning the division. While a Wild Card berth would be stellar as well, close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades, not in tie-breaking scenarios.
This game will inevitably shape how the national media feels heading into the NFL postseason.
