While the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix was filled with a weather delay and all kinds of uncertainty, the race was eventually finished with Sergio Perez winning.

Monaco may not be the site of the Grand Prix past 2022. There are no guarantees with the site and Formula 1 One discussing various posting fees and the like.

F1 is a growing industry, and they don’t see the point of keeping their premiere race at Monaco simply due to history. Those conversations must be held a different day, however.

Because the race had to be held in a two-hour window, it led to a hectic finish. The final laps brought with them plenty of drama. Who won the Monaco Grand Prix? Sergio Perez came out on top.

Who won the Monaco Grand Prix? Sergio Perez

Sergio Perez won the Monaco Grand Prix, in part due to his exceptional strategy down the stretch in what had to be a confusing finish.

Perez ensured he didn’t have to run more laps than necessary, if that makes sense. Because he was in front, he was able to set the pace on a timer. Perez raced a conservative final lap, as well, and Red Bull got their strategy right near the end.

Monaco Grand Prix prize money

There is no prize money for the Grand Prix, specifically. The top-10 (and likely more this year) in the final F1 standings will receive a substantial amount of money for a sport that’s expected to top $2 billion in revenue this season.
