Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson left Sunday, May 29’s game against the Cubs with an injury.

The Chicago White Sox have dealt with their fair share of injuries just under two months into the 2022 season. The last thing they needed is for one of their star players to pick up an injury. That unfortunately happened on May 29.

In the fifth inning of the Chicago’s game against the Cubs, Anderson fielded a ground ball by P.J. Higgins and threw it to first base to get the out. However, Anderson fell to the floor following the play and had to be helped off the field by training staff.

The team announced that Anderson left due to a strained right groin and that he would be evaluated on Monday, May 30.

All eyes are going to be on the evaluation Anderson undergoes the next day, because losing him for a significant amount of time could be devastating for the White Sox.

Through 40 games this season, Anderson slashed .356/.393/.503 while recording five home runs, 19 RBI, 24 runs scored and 58 hits.

Prior to the injury, Anderson went 1-for-2 at the plate, with the hit being a leadoff single in the bottom of the first inning.

The only thing that the White Sox can do is see what medical evaluations reveal in terms of the severity of the strain suffered by Anderson. White Sox fans will obviously keep their fingers crossed that the injury is not as serious as it looked.
