3 game-changing OG Anunoby trades we want to see
By Joe Mullinax
2. How could the Utah Jazz trade for OG Anunoby?
Jazz receive: OG Anunoby
Raptors receive: Bojan Bogdanovic, 2026 first-round pick (lottery protected, becomes two second-round picks via Utah and Memphis if not conveyed), 2028 first-round pick (unprotected)
This is the ultimate “how bad do you want it?” heat check from the Jazz, and perhaps one they’re not willing to entertain. An unprotected first-round pick six years from now could be anything — it could be the No. 1 overall selection if things break poorly for Utah over the next five or so years. But what this trade does is keep Rudy Gobert with the Jazz as either another trade asset or a valuable defensive/rim runner while upgrading the wing in the here and now.
Gobert, Donovan Mitchell, Mike Conley, OG Anunoby is a strong core of players. Combine that with the likes of Jordan Clarkson, Rudy Gay, Royce O’Neale, and whatever else Danny Ainge and company decide to do this offseason and the Jazz should be back in the mix for a top seed in the playoffs.
Meanwhile, much like the Portland trade, Toronto doesn’t lose too much in the Bogdanovic for Anunoby swap. OG is a superior player, but Bojan on an expiring deal will give the Raptors some offensive firepower along with a usage rate more in line with what a player at that stage of his career would be comfortable with.
Pascal Siakam, Fred Van Vleet, Scottie Barnes, and Gary Trent Jr. could lead the way. Bogdanovic would play to his strengths on the perimeter and be an opportunistic scorer. Raptors GM Masai Ujiri builds the stockpile for later on this decade and while on paper the Raptors are worse in the here and now, the malleable game of Bogdanovic makes this more palatable for Toronto fans that want the team to compete immediately.
