Spencer Strider, Atlanta Braves

While the Atlanta Braves may not be interested in trading away this talented, young arm, it would certainly be interesting to see the Cardinals take a chance on this 23-year-old righty.

Strider is 1-2 in 13 games, two of which were started. He has a 2.76 ERA in 32.2 innings pitched and 49 strikeouts. The youngster uses a four-seam fastball followed up with a slider and changeup. He currently induces 37.9% groundball outs.

He would seemingly be a good starting pitcher or possibly a longer innings relief arm for St. Louis. With the Cardinals’ current pitching conundrums, Strider would certainly be an interesting fit. The Braves have pitching concerns all their own and may have a huge asking price, including a return in pitching, for him.

It may be wishful thinking, but Strider would be an intriguing get for the Cardinals.
