Robert Quinn: 3 teams who should trade for star pass-rusher
By John Buhler
The Indianapolis Colts need to go for broke and become the best team possible
There are no excuses for the Indianapolis Colts to fiddle fart around. They not only need to make the AFC playoffs, but anything short of a division crown could cost head coach Frank Reich his job. The reason for this is it has been a long time since 2014. The Tennessee Titans could regress, the Houston Texans are not there and the Jacksonville Jaguars should be better with a real head coach.
With an actual NFL MVP quarterback guiding the way in Matt Ryan, Indianapolis should be one of the better teams in the AFC this season. Matty Ice will make every receiver on the Colts better because that is what he did with the Atlanta Falcons for 14 seasons. What will really serve the Colts is to have a pass rush and a defense backing up the future hall of fame starting quarterback.
Moreover, getting Quinn will prevent a team the Colts could be presumably competing for playoff positioning with in the AFC from getting him, like the Chiefs. Indianapolis is probably nothing more than a Super Bowl 57 dark horse presently, but keep in mind the last two league champions were led by quarterbacks who switched teams. Of course, Super Bowl 57 is in Arizona, not in Indiana…
If there was a time for the Colts to push all their chips in the middle of the table, this is the year.
