There’s no easy way to say this — Alfonso Soriano is more jacked than any of us reading this article. The former MLB outfielder reappeared at a Cubs game on Wednesday.

With Soriano in attendance, Chicago broke their putrid o-for streak with runners in scoring position, yet still lost to the San Diego Padres 19-5.

The bottom of the NL Central is spiraling at the moment, with the Cubs losing nine straight games, and the Pittsburgh Pirates breaking their own nine-game losing streak on Wednesday night against the St. Louis Cardinals.

While Soriano didn’t suit up for Chicago last night, he did get a grand tour of his former stomping grounds with his son — both of whom look ready to play tomorrow for the Cubs should Jed Hoyer and Co. maintain some level of interest.

Cubs: Alfonso Soriano could still suit up and play 9

This is the same team that went 0-for-62 with runners in scoring position, so Soriano really can’t make matters worse.

Soriano is a curious Hall-of-Fame case, and while he won’t be returning to the diamond to help his cause, he ought to campaign more in Cooperstown. While never an elite defensive player, Soriano did finish his career with over 2,000 hits and 400 home runs. He made seven All-Star teams and won four Silver Sluggers. Surely, there are worse players in the Hall of Fame than Soriano.

And as far as we know, Soriano was clean — which ought to bring with it some staying power considering the era he played in.
