8. Karl-Anthony Towns — April 16, 2022
It’s Game 1 of the first-round series between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Memphis Grizzlies. The T-Wolves have a one-point lead in the third quarter at FedExForum in Memphis.
De’Angelo Russell passes the rock over to Karl-Anthony Towns, who has Ja Morant on his back. KAT immediately spins and drives to the hoop, leaving Ja in the dust. Jaren Jackson Jr. is there to defend the basket, but KAT soars up and over and right into JJJ. Towns slams the hammer down, and he yells and flexes in Jackson Jr.’s direction. Jaden McDaniels is also talking some smack right in Jackson Jr.’s face, frustrating JJJ to the point of shoving McDaniels and earning a technical foul.
Ryan Ruocco and Richard Jefferson have an absolute ball on the call.
Ruocco: “Karl-Anthony Towns! My goodness!!!”
Jefferson: “Oh my god!” Whose baby is that!?”
