5. Donovan Mitchell — April 21, 2022

It’s Game 3 of a tied 1-1 first-round series between the Utah Jazz and the Dallas Mavericks. The Jazz trail the Mavs by 13 in the fourth quarter, and the Utah home crowd at Vivint Arena could use a boost.

Right on cue, Donovan Mitchell knifes through multiple Mavs defenders, leaving one Davis Bertans as the last line of defense. Bertans tries his best to contest, but he’s unable to stop Mitchell from taking off two feet from the middle of the paint. Mitchell bludgeons both Bertans and the rim with a vicious slam, bringing Vivint Arena to its feet with a raucous approval. Mitchell celebrates with his tongue out and his eyes wide.

Spero Dedes delivers a fantastic call: “Mitchell cocking one back! Donovan Mitchell coming with some smoke!”

Grant Hill adds on the replay, “Just snatching the soul of Bertans right there.”
