5 free agency destinations for Aaron Judge: Houston Astros

No way, right? Could the Houston Astros, chief Yankees post-season rival of the last five years, really steal Aaron Judge away from New York?

They didn’t re-sign Carlos Correa in free agency last off-season, but for good reason: Jeremy Pena. And perhaps they wanted to save the money not used on Correa to add a player like Judge. Imagine the blow Houston could deal the Yankees by making this move as if their playoff successes against them haven’t been enough.

The Astros have the talented Kyle Tucker in one outfield spot and the aging Michael Brantley in another one. Yordan Alvarez primarily DH’s at this point and Jose Siri and Chas McCormick are underwhelming options. Judge would fit right in alongside Tucker and Alvarez in Houston’s lineup to form a devastating middle of the order that also would make them younger.

Surely, the Yankees would not be happy with this move. But Judge is a better fit for the Astros than you might expect.
