2. The Braves should trade for Nationals outfielder Yadiel Hernandez

With Ronald Acuña Jr. in the lineup, the Atlanta Braves have no need for help in the outfield. Unfortunately, Acuña fouled a ball off his foot and has missed time recently. Acuña may even wind up on the Injured List once again.

Adding some outfield depth like Yadiel Hernandez of the Washington Nationals couldn’t hurt. The 34-year-old is picking up where he left off last season and has the makings of a solid rotational outfielder who can hit from the left side.

Hernandez isn’t going to show off the same power as Acuña Jr. or Marcell Ozuna, but he can play good defense on the outfield grass and bring a veteran presence to the Atlanta clubhouse. Hernandez has a career OPS+ of 103 and could help solidify the bottom of the Braves batting order.

Though he’s still pre-arbitration eligible, it’s doubtful the Washington Nationals will feel compelled to keep him. Yadiel Hernandez is no spring chicken, and the Nats are surely looking to rebuild after a dreadful start to the 2022 season.
