To make the playoffs, the Chicago White Sox will have to make some moves before the trade deadline. However, there are three players that they should avoid trading for.
The Chicago White Sox have shown that they need more help to make the playoffs than most people originally thought.
They are more than 45 percent through the 2022 season and they are still below .500 despite winning the AL Central with 93 wins in 2021.
They will, undoubtedly, need some reinforcements to get into the playoffs this year but there are three players that the White Sox desperately need to avoid before the August 2 MLB trade deadline.

Xander Bogaerts. 3. player. 14. . SS. Boston Red Sox
Whether or not the Boston Red Sox are buyers or sellers at the trade deadline this year is up for debate but if they do decide to become sellers, Xander Bogaerts would be the hottest commodity on the market for them.
He entered Wednesday hitting .328/.400/.474 with a 147 wRC+ so they could definitely use his bat. But the White Sox should avoid him.
The White Sox do need an infielder but they do not need a shortstop as Tim Anderson will likely be an All-Star. Bogaerts could move positions (likely to second base) but learning a new position in a pennant race might not be best.
Also, Bogaerts has an opt-out clause after this season. If he doesn’t like the White Sox or if he plays really well, they could just get two months of him after giving up a good amount of prospects.
