2) Yankees Rumors: Bryan Reynolds would be the blockbuster addition to add

Something has to give with the Pittsburgh Pirates eventually. When it comes to outfielder Bryan Reynolds, they need to either seriously build around him or trade him away before his trade value crashes. He has been a sought-after center fielder for a while now. The Yankees, now realizing Hicks is not the answer at the position, would be wise to make a blockbuster trade for him.

Reynolds got off to a slow start this year but has turned this around. He has an .801 OPS through 75 games which ranks 12th among all qualified outfielders. He has 15 home runs and 32 RBI entering action on Sunday which says more about how few runners he has on base in front of him as opposed to how weak his run production has been.

While no sure bet he’ll even get traded, the Yankees are one team that would be willing to go the extra mile to get it done. Anything short of a championship parade for them is a massive disappointment. They have been the best team in baseball for too long this year to come up short just because they didn’t want to pay the Pirates some prospects.

The Yankees are a team that should sell a little bit of their future for the present. They have the spending power to fix mistakes. Sitting around not doing anything is one mistake money cannot buy.
